Cynthia AppiahandKerry Smith
When Cynthia Appiah first started training with coach Kerry Smith, she was new to the world of bobsled after having spent the majority of her high school and university career as a hammer throw athlete. But where others may have seen a rookie without the proper technique; all Kerry saw was potential.
With her sights set firmly on competing in the first ever Monobob event in Beijing, Kerry doesn’t have any doubt that “it’s only a matter of time” before Canadians see her on the podium.
“The goal that I have for Cynthia is to do the best that she can, and if she can do the best that she can – she’s going to win an Olympic medal.”
