“Practice with purpose”
Each time para athlete Bo Hedges remembers Coach Higgins’ words “Practice with purpose”, it reminds him how far he’s come and what got him here. Going into practice with a goal has inched him closer to the Paralympic Games, even when Tokyo 2020 was postponed.
Bo found his love for wheelchair basketball at age 13 when he severed his spinal cord in an accident. As he recovered at the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre in Vancouver, he discovered his athletic potential. From there, he developed his professional career working with Coach Higgins, long time Canadian National Team Program Coach and Sports Hall of Fame Inductee.
