“Live in the now”
Para athlete Renee Foessel has known Coach Ken Hall since she was six years old. He’s seen her through every stage of her life on both a personal and professional level, and made her the person she is today with the words “Live in the now”. She repeats these words to herself often, and they drive her forward in life, even during a global health crisis — when living in the present seemed like the toughest thing she’d ever have to do.
Renee got into track and field at age 9, never letting cerebral palsy hold her back from pursuing her athletic passion. Since then, she’s trained with Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled with Coach Hall, and set new Canadian and World records for women’s discus.
