“You’re doing this for yourself”
Coach Carolyn Murray tells para triathlete Stefan Daniel, “You’re doing this for yourself”. These words remind him that whatever happens, he always has the support of the people around him. That’s given him the confidence to train in the events he finds most challenging, and take the Paralympic Games postponement in his stride.
Born into a family of athletes, Stefan never let physical challenges stop him from furthering that legacy. After modifying a racing bicycle to accommodate his bilateral radial club hands at age 16, Stefan has not looked back once. Throughout the years, it’s been Coach Murray — previously head coach for the Paratriathlon National Team — who helped Stefan get to where he is today.
