All points issued prior to account registration (activation) are promotional in nature, and are subject to expire 30 days from the date of issuance, until the account is activated online. Petro-Canada reserves the rights to restrict unregistered cards from the ability to redeem points, and to close any unregistered account that has been inactive for a period of 30 consecutive days (meaning that the account has not earned or redeemed points during such period), and upon closure, any accumulated points will be forfeited.

¹Petro-Points are earned on qualifying purchases when you use your Petro-Points card or pay using a linked RBC^® debit or credit card. You must go in-store to collect points using the Petro-Canada app or your digital Petro-Points card. Petro-Points are not awarded on taxes on non-petroleum purchases, tobacco, vaping products, gift cards and transit tickets.

Each time you use your linked Triangle Rewards, Petro-Points card or any payment card previously linked with such accounts, on qualifying purchases at Petro-Canada and participating Gas+ locations, you will earn a bonus of twenty percent (20%) more Petro-Points than you would normally earn (excluding any other partner bonuses), in accordance with the Petro-Points terms and conditions.

The advertised value of 7 cents per litre is based on the following:

Each time you use your linked RBC Card to purchase any grade of gasoline, or diesel, at a Petro-Canada location, you will save three cents ($0.03) per litre at the time of the transaction.

Each time you use your linked RBC Card to pay for Petro-Points purchases at a Petro-Canada location, you will earn a bonus of twenty percent (20%) more Petro-Points than you would usually  earn. This means that for every litre of fuel purchased, a linked RBC card can earn 1.2 cents in redeemable Petro-Points value (based on a redemption value of 1,000 Petro-Points = $1). Petro-Points are not awarded on tobacco products, vaping products, gift cards, transit tickets and taxes on non-petroleum purchases. Only certain RBC cards earn Avion points/RBC Rewards points.

Only certain RBC cards earn Avion points on net purchases. Each time you pay for purchases at a Petro-Canada location using your linked RBC Card that earns Avion points on net purchases, you will earn a bonus of 20% more Avion points than you normally earn for every $1 in purchases. This means that for every litre of fuel purchased, a linked RBC Card that earns Avion Rewards on net purchases can earn up to 2.8 cents of redeemable Avion Rewards value, calculated based on the average fuel cost of $1.65/litre and the average travel redemption value across all types of available travel redemptions options in accordance with the Avion Rewards Terms and Conditions at avionrewards.com/terms-and-conditions. Actual realized value may be lower with some redemption options.

New members will get 5 cents per litre (50 points per litre total) in Petro-Points on their first purchase instead of the normal 10 points per litre earn rate when they join or activate a card online at petro-points.ca or by using the Petro-Canada™ app and then complete a fuel purchase during the offer period. Maximum 50 litres per cardholder during this offer period. A valid Petro-Points card or a RBC^® card or Triangle Rewards^® account linked with the new active account must be used at the time of purchase. Registration/activation must occur prior to purchase.
