Ensure your account has access to manage “My Drivers.” Only the assigned role can access Driver Management. SuperUsers on your accounts have the ability to assign roles.

What is the One-Time Passcode (OTP)? A: The OTP is a single-use PIN sent to the driver’s phone to authorize transactions at Petro-Canada card-lock locations, enhancing security and preventing fraud.

Use Bulk Upload for large groups or manually add drivers for smaller organizations. Validate the information and send verification texts to drivers.

The OTP ensures that only the driver who receives the code can complete the transaction, eliminating the risk of fraud or skimming.

1. After the fleet manager activates OTP, the driver inserts their SuperPass card in the card reader.
2. The driver enters the odometer, driver ID, and/or miscellaneous information if applicable.
3. A One-Time Passcode PIN is sent to the driver’s phone within seconds via text.
4. The driver enters the OTP in the card reader.
5. The driver enters the pump number on the next screen and starts fuelling.

How to Fuel with One-Time Passcode (OTP)

If a driver doesn’t reply within 24 hours, the "Verified" icon remains grey. Repeat the process to resend the verification text.

The OTP is valid 15 mins.

If driver call you enquiring about their OTP you can provide them the code by following these steps:

1. Log into SPOL and navigate to "One-time Passcode" under “Manage Cards” tab.
2. Search for the driver's SuperPass card #. OTP will be listed in the table.
3. You can provide this code to the driver if they have reached you within the 15 minute period that the code is valid.

OTP increases security and fraud protection, ensuring transactions are handled by the right person and providing peace of mind throughout the transaction process.

Drivers are protected from fraud, the process is easy to switch to and use, and there’s no need to memorize a PIN as it’s sent directly to their phone.

Yes, adding a single layer of security rather than multiple ensures that staff can easily adopt the use of OTP.

Drivers are advised to call their fleet manager who will be able to provide the OTP, or our customer service line.

1. Download the Petro-Pass App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Allow location access to search and find locations.
3. Open the app and select Sign Up from the home screen.
4. Select Yes I am a Member and enter your Name, Card Number, and PIN Number.
5. Enter your phone number for future MFA purposes and tap continue.
6. Open the app and select Login, confirm your card number, and enter your password.
7. Tap submit to complete login.

1. Ensure your fleet manager has turned on access to App from their SuperPass Online account. This found under Account Management.
2. Drivers can then open the Petro-Pass App from the tablet and press ‘Sign-up’ from the home screen.
3. Enter your SuperPass card number and PIN, then press ‘continue’ after authorization is completed.
4. Repeat the process with each card that will be used on the tablet as needed. Up to 5 card numbers can be saved to the ‘Saved Cards’ section on the log-in page.

Downloaded the Petro-Pass App and it's not working	Ensure the correct app is downloaded. The Petro-Pass App is the EOL (End of Life) app. New users must download the SuperPass App.
Driver sees “Uh-oh! We ran into a hiccup with this request…” during signup	This is an intermittent issue. It means the request to the CCS database didn’t go through. The driver should wait and try again — it typically resolves on its own.
Driver locked out for 30 minutes after incorrect credentials entered multiple times	This is a security feature. After the card is unlocked, the driver gets one more attempt to enter correct credentials. If they fail, the card locks again for 30 minutes.
Driver locked out and cannot use “Forgot Password” option	If locked out, the driver cannot use any flows until the lockout period ends. This is by design for security.
Transaction not showing up after fuelling	It can take up to 24 hours for transactions to appear in the history.
Unable to see all Petro-Pass locations when searching by city	Search results depend on how sites are labeled in the system. Larger cities like Toronto might be listed as “North York,” etc.
General “Uh-oh! We ran into a hiccup…” message on any screen	This indicates a failed third-party API request for that screen. The user should retry later.
Android users see “An unknown error occurred” popup	This means a new backend error code isn’t yet mapped in the app. Once mapped, a clearer message will be shown.
Fuelling screen doesn’t return to “transaction complete” even after nozzle is returned	The third-party server might be slow to send a complete callback. The transaction should appear in the history shortly.
Driver wants to sign in with a different card but sees pre-populated card details	Driver can uninstall and reinstall the app to reset login flow and use a different card.
No One-Time Passcode (OTP) received after entering valid login credentials	OTP is sent via a third-party API. If not received, the driver should retry after some time.

Fleet managers must activate the app through their SuperPass Online account. They will navigate to Account Management. On the main page they will select ‘YES’ under Petro-Pass App.
